Jhonnier Gamboa Acosta, 24, was believed to have been shot and killed by Juan Perez, 67, on Park Avenue between 37th and 41st streets around 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Acosta was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:14 p.m. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
Perez was charged with murder and various weapons offenses. He was lodged in the county jail pending an initial court appearance.
